On this day, President Donald Trump, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed agreed that Israel and the United Arab Emirates would fully normalize relations. Their joint statement said delegations would meet to sign agreements on investment, tourism, flights, security, and embassies. Israel would suspend declaring sovereignty over areas in the American peace plan.
The treaty itself was signed in Washington on September 15, 2020. It cites the August 13 joint statement as the Abraham Accords.
