#onthisday, 1975, the UN General Assembly adopts the infamous resolution 3379 “determining” that Zionism “is a form of racism and racial discrimination”. In 1991, the resolution was revoked.

In 2020, the repercussions of such a motion (although symbolic and holding no legal standing) are tangible. The UN continues to selectively attack Israel, university campuses around the world target Jewish students for their Zionism, and both the far right and far left find common cause in their fight against Zionism.
