#onthisday, 1941, Chelmno Death Camp – the first to use gas to murder Jews, opens for operation. A horrid Nazi murder tactic that first started here in the back of vans would be implemented at Chelmno and over 172,000 people wound up being murdered by the Nazis at this death camp.

We mourn the lives that perished here during the Holocaust and continue to strive towards a future where nothing of the sort ever occurs again.
