#onthisday, 1947, through December 5th saw 3 separate horrific attacks on the Jewish communities of Yemen, Bahrain, and Syria.

Using the UN vote to partition the British Mandate of Palestine into a Jewish and Arab state as an excuse to murder Jews and destroy their property, these 3-4 nightmarish days in these countries were the beginning of the end for Jews living in Arab lands. In 1948 and 1949, similar attacks on the Jews of Egypt, Libya, and Morocco would occur. By the 70’s most Mizrachi and Sephardic Jews from these lands would be in Israel.
