#OTDJH: May 13th, 1905 legendary Israeli graphic designer and advertiser, Franz Kraus, was born in Sankt Pölten, Austria. Some have labeled Franz as the “Israeli Don Draper”.

.

Kraus was instrumental in designing early ads to promote Jewish immigration to British Mandatory Palestine prior to Israel’s independence.

.

Following the establishment of the State of Israel, Kraus played a big role in paving the way to promoting Israeli goods in “modern ways”.

.

Franz passed away in 1998 in Tel Aviv – leaving behind a strong legacy and an even stronger Israeli industry of advertisers.
